Green Banana Kofta Curry

Ingredients
  • 2 Raw Green Banana
  • 2 Potatoes
  • 3 Tablespoon Finely Chopped onion
  • 1 Tablespoon Ginger & Garlic Paste
  • Chopped Green Chili
  • Red Chili Powder
  • ⅛ Teaspoon Turmeric Powder [the_ad id="2092"]
  • 1 Teaspoon Lime Juice
  • 1 Teaspoon Chaat Masala
  • 1-2 Tablespoon Gram Flower
  • Salt (As Per Taste)
For Gravy:
  • Whole Cumin Seeds
  • Asafetida
  • 1 Cup Chopped onion
  • 4-5 Garlic Cloves
  • 1 Tablespoon Ginger
  • 1 Teaspoon Red chili powder
  • ½ Teaspoon Turmeric powder
  • ½ Teaspoon Dry Roasted Cumin Powder
  • ½ Teaspoon Dry Roasted Coriander Powder
  • ½ Teaspoon Garam Masala Powder(cinnamon ,cardamom cloves)
  • 1 medium size chopped Tomato
  • 1 teaspoon Can tomato Paste
  • Salt
  • Sugar
Instructions
  1. At first cut the end part of the raw banana and then cut each banana into two pieces. Now cut the raw potatoes into half, and keep them aside. Don’t peel the skin of banana and potato before it has been cooked. Now we will boil them (banana, potato) in a pressure cooker. Take 4-5 cup of water in a pressure cooker along with ½ teaspoon of turmeric powder and boil them (potato and banana) in a low medium flame unit banana and potato become soft. Turn off the heat and drain the water. Let banana and potato come to normal temperature, then peel the skins from them and grate. [the_ad id="2092"]
  2. Take a mixing bowl put the grated banana & potato. Now it is time to add the spices. Add chopped onion, chopped green chili, ginger-garlic paste, red chili powder, ⅛ teaspoon turmeric powder,1 teaspoon chat masala,1-2 teaspoon lime juice, salt to taste and 1-2 tablespoon gram flower(for binding). Mix them altogether. Take a plate and brush some oil and put the mixture over it and put the mixture.With the help of your palm spread it with ½" -3/4" thickness. Then using a knife make barfi (parallelogram or square) like kofta, and keep them aside.
  3. Heat oil in a deep frying pan, once the oil is hot enough put the koftas very gently in the oil and fry them unit it has been golden brown. Place them in a pepper towel to soak the excess oil.
  4. Now it is time for preparing the gravy. Take a skillet and add 2 teaspoons of vegetable oil, when the oil is hot enough add ½ teaspoon of whole cumin and the chopped onion,4-5 garlic cloves and 1 tablespoon of ginger paste. Continuously Stair those until the onion have been translucent. Now put them in a food processor and make a paste. Keep them aside.
  5. Add 2 Tablespoon of vegetable oil in the skillet and turn on the heat. Once the oil is hot, add asafetida, whole cumin. After 5-10 sec add the ginger-garlic and onion paste (which I have been prepare in step 4).Stair them for few minutes. Now i's time to add all dry spices .Add cumin powder, coriander powder, red chili powder, turmeric powder, garam masala powder and cook for few minutes. When the oil starts to come out from the masala, add chopped tomato and cook for 7-8 minutes. Add 1 cup of warm water then adjust salt and sugar.Once the water starts boiling cook for another 5-10 minutes in low flame till it reaches perfect consistency. Turn off the flame. You can add some ghee before serving.
  6. Place the kofta in a bowel and put the gravy over the kofta. Now your green banana kofta curry is ready to serve. Garnish with some fresh coriander leaves.
